Our monthly dinner meetings provide the opportunity for our members to meet a glittering array of names and faces from the world of football, from old friends with a very direct association with Hearts to those who are simply 'football people' and understand the appeal of the Beautiful Game.
Due to the success of the team, it has been difficult to plan and find dates for future meetings for this year and, indeed, next year. However please find below the other meetings that have been arranged:
5th December 2024: ‘Authors of Hearts Books Evening'. A planned panel of authors who have written Hearts related books, including James Stephen who has written a book, "Auld Foes", about the oldest Derby in the world, Hearts v Hibs, of course. Alastair Stupart, a lecturer at Napier University, who has written a number of Hearts books, and Drew Hoggan who is in the process of publishing a book on legend Willie Hamilton. Gary Cowan author of FROM MEDALS TO TOFFEE TINS – A HISTORY OF HEARTS IN 150 MEMORABILIA OBJECTS
An excellent opportunity to purchase Christmas gift books for Jambo family and friends will be available on the night.
30th January 2025: AGM and Derek Ferrier, Stadium Manager at Hearts.
Nobody has a better knowledge of the history and all the recent construction that has taken place at Tynecastle. Over and above, Derek is an accomplished and extremely entertaining speaker, so an excellent evening is assured.
As we have mentioned earlier, the success of the team has meant it has been very difficult to plan dates for the forthcoming season. Nobody seems to have told UEFA that the Shareholders always have their meetings on the last Thursday of the month!!
However, we have a number of future speakers already agreed to attend our meetings. Martin Geissler, BBC Newsreader, broadcast journalist and BBC Scotland correspondent and a passionate Jambo to boot, has agreed to attend one of our meetings. Laurie Dunsire and Jimmy Sandison from Hearts TV have agreed to attend , Joel Sked at Standard Hearts has been a great support in suggesting potential new speakers. We also have a number of ex players who have agreed to attend.
All in all, the Committee are confident that over the coming year, we have an excellent list of speakers, and will advise once we can can get dates freed up.
We must mention too, Gary Locke and Graham Pacitti and all the catering team, who have always been most supportive of the Association and deserve our thanks for helping make our dinner meetings the success that they are.
The Committee look forward to seeing you all at our meetings.
